Jonker & Schut opts for green energy

It may not be noticeable from the ground, but the roof of Jonker & Schut's facility on Harselaarseweg in Barneveld is now covered with 3,000 square meters of solar panels. These are 2,000 Canadian Solar panels that generate a lot of energy even in low sunlight hours, amounting to 540,000 Wp (Watt peak) in total.

The solar panels were installed by Zonnepanelen op het dak B.V, also based in Barneveld, and have a combined annual output of approximately 460,000 kWh.

Jonker & Schut, a company that specializes in transport, storage, and distribution, now uses solar energy for its offices and for the temperature-controlled storage of products in its warehouses. CEO Erik Schut is pleased with the use of solar panels, but is not planning to stop there. "The environment is important to us and we take measures to reduce our impact wherever possible. The solar panels are our latest project, but we are constantly looking for new ways to contribute to a better environment."
